another 18yo here glad that there are actually some teenagers.. i was kinda sad because i showed ps to a friend who liked poetry too but she was like "nah it's a site for old people". and i was secretly like 'but you don't have to be old to write poems!'

I said more to her then "than in all our life together"--
She just whimpered and moved her head a little,
Then she was gone.
We didn't say anything...
"A pure change happened"

Hello fellow poets. Albeit referring to oneself as a wordsmith is quite misleading. However, my futile attempts have been uploaded for your perusal. Feel free to critique. In actual fact I welcome such critique. It will enable me to establish whether I have a gift or at least confirm my creative delusions.

Peace.

i don't think it's fair for one poet to have 73 posts on the list of the 200 most recent poems posted. it prevents readers from seeing other people's work.

Lady,

In me you did inspire
This poem like wildfire--
For your beauty is so deep
You make me feel small and meek--
From me my heart you did rend
Because from heaven you did descend

A wedding is about the bride and groom
So why does everyone jump to assume
That they're opinions means the bible
It's mothers and daughters that createthis vicious cycle

Moms want to throw their daughter thebest day ever
They're reluctant to think their dreams aren't the brides endeavor
Its one day in life
With all strings attached
My energy sure feels the bite

No matter how hard you try,
People flake or become insane
You begin to wonder, why?

Then Eloping doesn't sound so mad
All that matters is the bride walks down the isle with the dad
The groom takes her hand
A strong love is witnessed and spread across the land.

Daughters keep your head and will strong
It's about you and the groom,
That's where the power belongs
Don't let other steal your focus
The moment you say “no”
Treasured friendships may become bogus

Everyone else, keep your mouth shut
Wish there was a nicer way to say this,
I'll just be blunt
Doesn't matter what you think or do
For once in your life,
This day isn't about you!

This Life I detest
For Happiness only comes in moments now.
We have done so many things...
"But what is bad or good that thinking makes it so..."
Maybe it is I who is changing color--
Still I so want to point the finger

I am an old writer with a new found passion, I always enjoyed writing but used to only pursue it as a hobby. I just recently have been using my writing as a stress reliever and realized it is something that I really love and enjoy doing and would like to develop it further. So any feedback is good feedback at this point so feel free to drop by and take a look at what I have in store!

BTW, everyone on this site is so friendly and positive I look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi, I'm treenie

like every one else- I'm getting my feet wet and getting the quintessential constructive criticism we all hate and love and love and hate. I've never really had any poetry 'training' - which I quite like. Means that pretty much all my stuff sounds like me, I only write from the heart - a lot of it is from dreams I've had, or conversations I've had, or conversations I would like to have.... any way - any thoughts, ideas, compliments, nudges or just traffic would be much appreciated. Just a small sample of my work is here. There is more at my blog - www.spaceisblue.blogspot.com

Do You Hear my Cry

Teresa Lindsay

In this world there is suffering, unseen and unheard
As every one hurries on with their busy little lives
Too involved in things, not wanting to get involved
Some times not even seeing what is there for all to see
When every one around me is loud, I try to speak
I go unheard, unseen, Do you hear me? Hear my cry?
I carry on as I must, pain in my heart, sorrow in my eyes
Keeping it inside, not willing to show it all, no relief
You come to me in your need as you always have
Cry on my shoulder then gone when all is well for you
My heart is heavy, my burdens many, my pain buried deep
Tears stream down my face, streaking my checks
Do you hear my cry? Do you ease my mind, my burdens
No? But I carry on and I always will, no matter comes
Will you cry for me when I am gone? I think not
You never heard my cry, never saw the tears
Never walked beside me, never eased my worries
Never eased the burdens that weighed me down so heavy
I hope you found the solace I gave helpful in your need
That I eased your burdens, wiped your tears, lessened your burdens
I gladly gave comfort where it was needed for all
I walked beside many, saw the flood of tears
Eased many a heart and burdens along the way
When I am gone no one will ever hear my cry
