| Contest Description |

For this contest choose a favourite Nette Onclaud Poem and write a tribute to her based on one of her poems.
You can write of her poetry or her friendship or her funny personality BUT -- whatever poem you choose you MUST write in the same form. If Nette’s poem is a sonnet, write her a sonnet. If it is free verse – write her a free verse. Nette has introduced us to some stunning forms... like the Lai!
Try your best to include something you’ve learned FROM Nette.
Perhaps, a new form. A way of turning a phrase. Maybe, a more modern approach to rhyme (slant) or choosing not to capitalize each line. Maybe it’s a sublime use of a verb and noun, something unique and captivating. It might be how you are now more aware of cliché and avoid them at all cost... Nette is a true poet in every sense of the word.
At the end of your poem, give the name of the poem that inspired your words.
I also encourage you and hope you will include a small note to Nette, letting her know how and why she is missed.
So... GUIDELINES
1) Choose a poem by Nette Onclaud
2) Write a tribute poem that is inspired by her poem. Let her images take you where they will. Let yourself fly. Trust your instincts. YOUR POEM MUST BE WRITTEN IN THE SAME FORM AS NETTE’S POEM WHICH INSPIRED IT.
3) Include the name of Nette’s poem which you chose.
4) Please, write a few words to Nette. Let her know how her words/presence has touched you.
I’m hoping the positive energy meanders out of the Soup and brings back our
Queen of Poetry, Soul Sister extraordinaire and Den Mother to Newer Poets..
Nette Onclaud,
Soupers miss your magic words, you positive energy, your kindness and your wisdom.
Please come home.
