greetings,dear soupers!... synesthesia[sin-es-thee-zia] in poetry: is an attempt to fuse different senses by describing one in terms of another... an example is John Keat’s poem, Endymion:
“….lost in pleasure at her
feet he sinks,
Touching with dazzled lips her starlight hand. “
(The interplay of sight and touch is
defining)
psychologists include seven kinds of mental images:1) visual ,2) auditory, 3) olfactory 4)gustatory,5) , , 6) ic (awareness of heartbeat, breathing), and 7) kinesthetic (awareness of muscle tension and movement).
