The images and the words
come so fast, and
with such urgency,
that everything
assumes the same importance;

We are going to war and hundreds
and thousands of people like you and me
will be killed.
But how would you know and
of what importance is it anyway,
when mentioned in the same breath as
"Julia Robert's home movies with her
kids...
Milk and cereal bars...you can store all this
at Public Storage just call 1-800..."
If all this was going on in one person's
head
we'd think insanity, but it is in all
our heads.
The T.V. sage wisely intones that there is
"Irony in tragedy" but don't
think too deeply on it.
People died, people will die...
It really hardly touches you...
or me.

I wonder what time sunrise is
in Baghdad?
Lying awake abed and all slept out
I listened to the falling morning rain.
The pitter-patter landing in the spout
Made rhythmic sounds while flowing down the drain.
In vain I tried composing rhyme to it
Instead I found myself just mesmerized.
The drip, drip, tap, tap I must admit
Had totally rendered me hypnotized.
While in this early morning conscience sleep
An inner voice of mine began to speak:
You are a fool to think while angel’s weep
The muse will help you in the quest you seek.
When the rain stops and angels dry their eyes
It’s only then a poem can be devised.

H aving shelter and the means to keep ourselves
A live doesn’t seem like much to ask, yet many
P eople strive just to pay the rent and somehow keep their
P oor kids fed. Whatever can we say to those who
Y earn for just a bed?
N ow I sit and wonder why we simply don’t
E volve! All the problems that exist, only
W e can solve.
Y es, a New Year’s coming, and I hope we will
E mploy helpfulness for those in need. Let’s bring them love
A nd joy! In this world of woe, we need to be a
R ay of light, glowing, ever glowing though the world seem dark as night.

I was put on this planet
with a mission to accomplish,
and enthusiasm is my reason to exist;
I take nothing in stride...
not keeping watch on my enemy,
and try to live peacefully...
knowing that I will die
without a grudge on my sigh!
Is that a mere coincidence
that I follow in the footsteps
of the few who lived for peace and liberty,
and rejected glory for modesty?
Mockery wasn't a cause
for their dire or distress...
to dissuade them from anything
they had said; there was no wall dividing words
from action,to distort their meaning,
because they were loud and clear!
I dont simulate or imitate the monarch,
and please the well-to-do
who dress lavishly and have a lot:
my living is a simple song...
a harmony with a beautiful sound;
I show pity, and I'm never cruel!
They stare at me, as if I weren't stately...
only cursed with stark poverty;
I don't deny my hunger...a hunger
for different values that stand fast:
I am guided by the starlight,never stagger
or fail to take my stand!
I'm realistic and defined by grace...
to imagine it a mere coincidence:
to have come into existence,
and not fit in any social system
which demands to honor its hypocritical anthem!

I can't forget you,
lose you,
block out your face.
As much as I loved you,
I want you to be ocean's away.
You seem to haunt me,
taunt me,
take my breath away.
I just want you
to slowly fade.
I am taken
by something
so much better than you.
My God,
My Prince,
this one love true.
I am praying
and saying
please make me sleep
So you are fading,
losing,
your grip on me.
Glad,hedonistic lad;
Delighting in delectations,
Amusing affectations,
Posturing pretension
with ogling ostentation!
Professing pleasure seeking
Confessing,leisure leaning.
Reputation so revealing,
Passe peer appealing!
Performing,extroverting,
Showcasing,demonstrating,
Superficial and artificial;
Pleasure without measure.
Sad,sad,sad ! Hedonistic lad!
A blade of grass
As sharp as Sword
Words so heavy
Under their burden doth men fold
And to look upon your face
I feel the testement of grace
So look to like
If looking likes to move
As gentlemen become knights of old
And nights endlessly turn to days
And we become strangers to our ways
So feather of lead
Mountain of air
Why is my heart as heavy as thee
No dont tell me
For i could not bear to know
Nor do i wish to ever see
For never again shall my eyes rest
Rest on beauty such as thee
I want to tell you so many things, I want to remind you about my wonderful
dreams. I sit
and listen to everyone wanting to respond, but since I can't I don't have much fun.
I
want to hold and touch someone, create a life, get married and really bond. the
days go
by so fast I want to cry, but when I think about how blessed I am, I just sit and
sigh.
I continue to listen and not to speak,I continue to grow strong and not to be
weak. But
because of the faith and hope I have, I know one day I'll be in Gods bosom fast
asleep.
Speak for me
I walked along the sands of time,
Near the water's edge life defined,
Storms that raged in a haggard Soul
Sprays that whispered of more to know.
I picked up shells along the way,
Saving them for a rainy day,
Shells of laughter, of joy and love,
Still somehow it was not enough.
The message was clear, 'Go Within,
Shells to find where beginning ends.'
Tides of senses to become whole,
Ebbing and flowing, touching Soul.
Oceans of love from God above,
Drenched in it's spray, washed in his love.
Why are those paparazzi not stampeding towards me
with flashing bulbs
and outstretched arms
clamoring for my autograph
showering me with glory and praise
making me the one
no other like me.
Can't they see
I am adorned in my finest
draped with the red, white, and blue
sporting my gun and
grenades to accent the camouflage suit,
covered with patriotic pride
my makeup.
Parading through the street of Baghdad
death calling my name at every turn
wanting to take me home in a box
or urn.
Nestled up in the mountainside of Afghanistan
chasing a man living in a cave
wrestling with the terrain
giving freedom to people who already had their liberty.
Surfing on the Ocean floor
watching
Ahmadinejah dance with Kim Jong il
hoping they are not bold.
I am trying to understand
if the American people appreciates me
where are the glory and praise lavished unto Brad Pitt
and Angelina Jolie.
Do I need a sex tape for them to take pride
and see me dress in my glory
or should I spend five minutes in jail
go on Larry King and tell my story.
Maybe I should drive down the street drunk
going the wrong way with my kids
in the front seat
wave at you with glee
having no idea how lucky I am to be free.
Okay I get it
finally got it
this is how it will be
I will come home in a box
still adorned in my finest
red, white, and blue
and you will look down on my corpse
burning flesh
limbs missing
probably one or two
don't turn the camera away
look down
get the horns ready to play that tune
"O SAY CAN YOU SEE"
that is me
America's finest
A REAL AMERICAN CELEBRITY.
Doesn't it feels good to be free?
It's a fishbowl world
with a swimming wall between
People come and go
with a swish!
into some hidden hole but
As you hover
in some mind-suspended state
You think you're in control but?
You AINT!
Those without appear to glint
comic fat to conical
undulating intermittent
From the gravel bottom
does an alabaster castle rise
white snow white
cresting flotsam pouring light
but
Oh it's a dizzy downward spin you're in
poor thing sated in the bowl
world's most anguished misunderstood soul
Then settling on the gravel floor
harbinger of fright
Behold!
the castle door
Within black as night!
On the bottom
in the sand
there is a golden coin
deposited by angel band
Now!
on your belly FLOP!
Recover what's been covered up
Oh dig thee most urgently
with whiskey stained nails
What depth of passion
are you now capable of
love hate
begging strength from Him above
Alas though
lungs and body spent given up
last drop of Soul
has slowly bubbled up
Those above
beyond that surface wall
of undulating glass
continue oblivious
in parade to pass
