Thought I better get round to writing a bit about myself.

I'm married to Bob and have a son who is studying at university in England. We live on the Isle of Man - moved here from Birmingham UK in 1996

My poetry journey began in November 2013 after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. The first poem I wrote was called was Splendid Isolation. This was written after we returned to the Isle of Man after his surgery in England. I felt so alone and vulnerable in the accommodation  - all I really needed was someone to talk to face to face and maybe have a hug! I posted a few poems on a friends facebook page - mainly humerous poems . An on-line friend Jenny Brewer saw my poems and kept telling me to join here. It took about 3 weeks of her asking me if i had joined to pluck up the courage to finally post and 'Just Desserts'  was the first poem I posted here - it is based on a true experience! Since then my life has been a whirl and I since Jared Pickett's contest I am writing with Darren Watson collaboratively as JaDazzle United.

I work part time with students with special needs mainly Aspergers Syndrome which is a form of autism.
I adore penguins - the animals not the biscuits!
Loveeeee tall men with greying hair
I love baking/cooking
I like to potter in the garden - need more time to commit to it but have aged parents who need me more than my garden does
Adore most types of music - will give anything a listen
Best ever gig - Knebworth 1986 when 'Queen' headlined

Poetry Soup Farty Party

Blog Posted:7/4/2014 8:00:00 AM

I posted this poem on 30th June

Passing Wind

Do you remember the day

When some wind went astray

And you let out a smelly old fart

Just one of those embarrassing moments, don’t let it tear you apart

A botty burp, a fart or a fluff  - you may call it another name

It’s all completely natural don’t hang your head in shame

I once worked with a lad I called ‘beans boy’

Oh boy that kid sure could let rip

Think his mum fed him baked beans and curries

Cos we sure got a good whiff of it

On bad days we’d opened the windows

We’d gasp for some sweet smelling air

It was so bad I thought I’d get asphyxiated

And would be found dead in my chair

Since I posted my poem there has been an explosion of farty poems from others who have joined in the fun and brought a bit of life to the site which I find pretty lacklustre at the moment.

Many thanks to :-

Mystic Rose   - Tooting All The Way To China

Casarah Nance  -  Whew whats that stink

Seren Roberts  -  Rumbling tummy

Tim Smith  - Cut The Cheese AND Jan is not a smelly fart

I then Posted: Tim Smith I'm Fartbroken

C L Thornton - At The Request Of Jan Allison

Toquyen Harrell -  Deadly Quiver

Jerry T Curtis - Stiles in Piles & Chez Pierre s Fart Cafe &  Mikey And His Irish Ass

Peter Dome - Methane Bertha

Jenny Brewer - Jan's Fart

Mandy Tams the Golden Girl - No Farting Allowed

Peter Duggan - The Old Lady named Nell

LOL Charmaine - its a direct flight from the Isle of Man where i live so i reckon i will be ok and wont have to hold one in if the need arose lol we were due to come in April but the plane wasn't full so the trip didn't happen - got my wings crossed for this time. Hugs Jan xxx

Wow, you inspired a lot of gas passing poems, and I love yours!!! Hope I can check all of these out. There is someone at Soup that wrote a really good root a tooting poem a long time ago. I think it was a good friend of PD's, not sure. It was pretty hilarious too!!!
