The scene you paint sounds carefree and lovely. I love the intricate descriptions - 'men wear belt-buckles made from brass'. It would be lovely to just sit down near a river and write poetry while listening to some jazz!

"Cause in new England students blend And colors shine on jazz downtown" my favourite line. Lovely poem. And so cool. And writing poetry on fresh greens... who here wouldn't want to do that? The leg warmers made me smile. SO EIGHTIES! I LOVED THEM!
