Suzanne Delaney and Suzette Crous

Blog Posted:4/11/2013 1:28:00 AM

GOOD MORNING SOUPERS!

I would like to bring to your attention a small matter which I find a bit confusing. Lately I have been referred to on my poems pages and elsewhere as "Suzanne". I do not mind the comparison but it is a bit confusing as I do not know whether the comment was intended for me or not - even if it was appended to one of my poems.

I do not know how Suzanne feels about this twin persona, but I guess that she would wish to be recognized as a poet in her own right. My reputation might not be welcome.

Wishing everyone a fine day

Love

Su

You got skills....that's the coolest concrete poem I've ever seen. Way to go, Suzanne!........haha...now I'm just being goofy. SUZETTE!..and what a lovely name it is.

Hi Su: Thanks for the lovely pic of us as twin flowers...... now, when I was in High School it seemed like half the gals in my class were Susans or Suzanne's.....most of us were nick-named Sue by our friends so the teacher would call us by first and last name. If you have been used to Su and I have been signing my comments as SuZ I think our identities will be intact...as long as we aren't naughty and try to confuse people like many twins do. LOL ROF Your mantis is cool...o how I love to watch insects as long as they keep a distance,. Looking forward to seeing your Free Verse resurgence- after the dicipline of forms- it can transform your free verse writing in a positive way I think. SuZ

I am pleased that you see it in a positive light, SuZ :-) I will be posting poems shortly - I have been scribbling quite a few (not all concrete poem). Love, Su

I love your Mantis! ... I think this mantis has been crossbred with an Africanized Bee!! : )

It matches the colour of your avatar... ;- ) Yes, the African bee is deadly, but I once witnessed a pray mantis taking a bee down, chomped its head of and proceeded to have a hearty meal.

I did not meet another "Francine" till I was well into my adulthood. I tend to call Suzanne by her full name and you "Su" as that's how you sign your comments,

When I was born (64 yrs. ago) the name "Linda" was VERY popular. I had 2 other Linda's in my 5th grade class. After a lot of problems with this, the teacher decided to put our names in a hat. "First and middle". There was a Linda Kay, and a Linda May. Mine was Linda Lee. Thank god I won and got to stay Linda. The other two where called Kay and May for the rest of the year. lol Linda...without the Lee please...lol

That is funny, Linda .... but I am sure it was not fun at the time. Linda Lee - could be a song. Sounds nice on the ear :-)

I am so happy my mom called me a name that was very rare for its time!

Suzette, I hope I am not one who has used your name incorrectly. I am very bad with names and get easily confused with my students' foreign names at my school. I have known Suzanne for many years and it's funny, but I call both of you SUZ. BTW I love the shape of the mantis you came up with.

I was bored, hence getting stuck into my first love, nl free verse and concrete :-) Thank you for the complement, Andrea. Love, Su

I once had 4 schoolmates with my name and was TOLD I would be called Cynthia for the whole year. UGH. No choice. I ensured my girl had a rare name. HUGS!

I was in the same boat Cyndi. Because there were other Joes in my grade school class, my teacher decided to call me Joseph - I hated it!! Although I do sign official documents "Joseph", I do not like being called Joseph. My kids, too, all received somewhat unique names. Although it is funny, when we named my son "Tyler" 31 years ago, it was unique, now it is very common.

I had a rare name at school, but have come across it before. I think they should name a rose after you, Cyndi ;-)

How could there POSSIBLY be more than one Ruben ;-) One of a kind. Cloning is impossible. Now, there have been several Cindy/Cyndi/Cynthia/Lucinda here. I've been called Cindy, Cynthia, Cin, Cyn and every variant thereof. But I'm fairly sure that the comments are directed to me.
