 My name is Julie Heckman and I am a waggish woman.
My childhood is not worth hearing about, but when I got myself together I received a Masters in Graphic Design from CSULA. For 15 years I was a freelance Graphic Designer with my own business called Julian Berlin Productions. I designing greeting cards that were sold in the US, Canada and Europe. After this I decided to go back to college to get a teaching credential... what a mistake! I wound up teaching 7th grade, (Special Ed) for a couple of years in downtown LA... don't ever try this... Missing the academic environment I went back to The School of Theology at Claremont and got my Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees. In march of 2011 I will be teaching adult education in theology at the United Universalist Church in Long Beach, CA. I became disabled in 2001 and now have plenty of time for friends and writing poetry. Poetry Soup is a God send, I really appreciate all the different poets that are so talented and their comments.
