Never would I have thought I would start
writing at 73 years of age. I have thoroughly enjoyed my voyage into the written spirituality of poetry and thank God for the opportunity. In my three years here I have met many new and wonderful persons. Having them accept me as a friend has been a moving experience.

Hanging Ten

I wrote a haiku yesterday thinking I knew the definition of "hanging ten".
her cloud
she hangs ten on
the dark side
I thought it referred to a surfer who could ride through the curl of a wave for ten seconds. However, in looking up the meaning it seems it has several. The closest meaning to mine is that Hanging Ten is when the back end of the surf board is inside the wave it is riding on, it is supported somewhat by that wave and the surfer can move forward on the board and hang all ten toes over the front edge of the board. I thought this was a cool thing to know so, hence this blog. How many of you knew that?
