What can I say?  My picture above shows you that I have lived a long time.  It was taken in 2008 for our church registry.

I was a stay at home mom until my last child was in school.  I was widowed when I was forty four and was glad that I was already employed at the local radio station.  I stayed in the same job for thirty years and after I retired at 65 and took a trip to Europe with a friend, I started working again and stayed for another ten years.  I have only been writing poetry since 1999 when I wrote to relieve my grief when my only son died.  I married again four years after my husband died and was widowed again in 1995.  I am an avid gardener and belong to two local garden clubs and am on the board of the district club and state garden club so have lots of meetings to attend. I have my own poetry corner in the state garden club's publication. I live in my home by myself and rent my farm land to a local bulb grower.  I am surrounded by beauty.  All of mv family lives close to me.  Two daughters, six grandchildren,
eleven great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. We live in Washington State in Northwest Washington and love it here.

Problems

I just wrote a poem on microsoft and pasted it to Soap.  When I sent it and went to look at it the poem was gone and some message from a man named Robert was there.  I deleted and went back to my original poem in my Writings and it was gone and the message was there also.  I deleted it there and wrote my poem directly to Soap.  That worked.  Now I will be afraid to try copying and posting again.  I am so glad that I had made a printed copy to work on before I started copying and pasting.  Any suggestions or commiserations? Joyce

It is a pain to have to type in the poem all over again to get it to go thru, but maybe you will be forced to do that until this mess is resolved. I never had this problem and it sounds very annoying, Joyce. I hope Soup or someone in your family can help you resolve it.

I usually write mine on paper and then post it on the soup. So sorry you are having problems but first notify the soup and see if this is a common problem. love phyl

This is odd, Joyce, but similar things have happened to me. Poems disappear sometimes after I post them here. The formatting in Word is often eliminated when I copy and paste, so I have to check each one to be sure spaces between lines are still there. I will still write in Word first though as it underlines misspellings and sometimes grammatical errors as well. Let's commiserate together. Love, carolyn

Hi,Joyce.I haven't had a problem like yours, but a close relative sent me Soup Mail. He is not a member of Poetry Soup. I found out from my niece that he is a hacker and got caught and jailed for credit cards fraud. So my suggestion is: if this happens again, notify Poetry Soup Team immediately.(I guess you have ). Hackers are out there hurting people in unimaginable ways. Thanks for sharing this eye-opener blog. May God bless you. Hugs, Andrew.

That sure sounds weird, Joyce...I am not sure what happened and I'm sorry I can't be of much help, but I think this site still has some glitches here and there...

Hey Joyce, my suggestion is put feelers out in your community for some (probably very young) person who knows about hacking and stuff. This site is pretty low security and high buggy and snoopy, I've had the same kinds of problems, namaste ~N
