My deepest sympathy my dear friend. My dad passed away almost two years now but the pain is still here. However, I know they're now happily with the Lord. My prayer for you and your family.

I am so sorry Catie, I am still carrying the pain of such a loss. Just hold head up high, smile, just like your Tad would have wanted. .....Seren

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, catie, I had no idea about this; I left a comment on your poem earlier and hope that it didn't come across as flippant under the circumstances...hugs from charlotte

Dear Catie...I was just thinking about you and your dad yesterday and was meaning to ask you, and now I read of his passing-- I am deeply sorry for your loss-- please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, I am hugging you right now-- in a way, I find it so meaningful whenever someone we love passes away close to a holiday or a special date-- it somehow gives more meaning to that date-- bittersweet in a way but still thankful for the life shared. I love how you say that another poet kisses that sky-- let your love for him soar with him. Sending you love and prayers...

OOOOOOOh, Catie-love, I am mentally wrapping my arms around you, sending you a clincher-hug! I am so very sorry. I lost my stepmom on Thanksgiving and my father two years later on Christmas eve. Both died before they reached 65, so I know a bit of what you are going through. Try to gather as many as those good memories together as you can, before you get to the service. And this is going to sound silly, but if you have a small trinket that means a lot to you, something with a connection perhaps, a rock, a shell, a coin, clutch it if things feel like they are falling apart--sometimes something tangible helps, a bit. I know you are a spiritual lady, may the light you believe in bring peace.xox

Catie, I am very sorry about your father's passing....that is rough. You are intelligent and have most likely already thought about this: since both your parents are now connected to the Thanksgiving holiday in such a way, you can take the sadness, and in future Thanksgivings, use the holiday as an extra emotional reflection to truly give thanks for your parents. Blessings toward getting through this next week.

"Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" is a Christian hymn written by Ada R. Habershon with music by Charles H. Gabriel. Later, A.P. Carter, the founding member of The Carter Family, made a version: "Can the Circle Be Unbroken (By and By)"
