My name is James Andrew Fraser, I reside in Inverness. The Capital of the Highlands of Bonnie Scotland. I am married, with four lovely children. Andrew, Steven, Rebekah and Liam.

I work in the sales industry, primarily to Scottish Fish Farms and Processing Plants. I also look after an Engineering Company in my customer portfolio.

I am a big fan of Football/Soccer and I support Glasgow Rangers and Everton. My three sons play the beautiful game, and all the kids support Arsenal.

Poetry is so new to me, I have been writing for just under a year now, but I look forward to writing to well into the future. My preferred topics are fantasy and nature, but I do try to broaden my choices as my poetry to present shows.

My main hobbies apart from poetry are Music and Art. Many years back I used to do copies of Album Covers, especially fantasy ones, as I marvelled at the likes of Roger Dean and Storm Thorgerson. You can find their work on the Albums of Yes and Pink Floyd respectively.

The bands that I like are many, Pink Floyd, Marillion, Wishbone Ash, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Foreigner, Heart, Allman Bros, Ann Vriend, Amy MacDonald and so many more. And I love writing to music, nothing beats it in my eyes.

I thoroughly enjoy nature, and I do hope much of it is around for my children, and their childrens children. I would hate their legacy to end up a barren planet, because of our inhumanities to life around us.

Much of the poetry on the Soup is on my website www.thehighlanderspoems.com and without the Soup, I very much doubt this site would have been created.

My motto in life is, " You don't have to stand on someone to be taller than them "

Into The Valley - of the Tornado

Blog Posted:3/3/2012 11:00:00 PM
To listen to our elders, and experience, the experience
All it takes in Tornado Alley, in sky view believe it

This is where we see the gloom in cobalt steel blues
Has a colour ever been acclaimed so much on the news

It's changes in shade, even whilst the minutes lapse
Once darker becomes her wrath, in touch within her clasp

She even takes our images, with these flashes of captured view
Alluring us in invitation, then allowing her strength to spew

I see nothing different to the decades of years I've been
Maybe it's now in view, to this modern human circus theme

I can still recall the past, when giants roamed the earth
And yet they have still to complain, in the country of their birth

I'm an entity of being out there, do I apologise and feel my course
For this I'm unable to answer for which I'll never feel remorse

Upon rising from the shelter, storm damage explodes my view
Upturned monsters of the highway, skeletal trees stand untrue

Picket fences penetrate tree trunks that have withstood so many years
Assassinated by she called nature, guaranteed there are no tears

School buses in dented show, but allowing it's kids to be safe
But her anger still continues to flow, neighbour hoods safety depraved

I see nothing different to the decades of years I've been
Maybe it's now in view, to this modern human circus theme

I can stil recall the past, when giants roamed the earth
And yet they have still to complain, in the country of their birth

I'm an entity of being out there, do I apologise and feel my course
For this I'm unable to answer for which I'll never feel remorse

Into the valley we have ventured, amidst the land of the free
Being here we were but strangers, for we culled the ones that could see
