Both my daughters will be there with their Mom, who is a great Mom! Tho we have been divorced 18yrs. We vowed never to speak ill of the other, and it paid off...both my girls are doing great! Ones in advertising in Chicago...the other in banking investment portfolio's here in Minneapolis....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS! jimbo

Hi Jimbo. So happy to hear that your mom is recovering. Sounds like you have a great family to be thankful for. I am cooking a very humble dinner: Turkey w/stuffing and gravy, baked and buttered yams, asparagus and pumpkin pie. I forgot the cranberry sauce...LOL...will have to run out tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving. love and hugs, catie :)

JIMBO! Hey, you had me at HUMMUS. mmm Great news about your Ma! (loved your happy blog) We had our thanksgiving and I just roasted some turkey thighs, kept 'er simple. I started a tradition here that my hubby loves... CHRISTMAS LASAGNA. 2 POUNDS OF MEAT. HEAPS OF CHEESE. I make it the day before and come the big day, there is NO KITCHEN WORK. I make it a Sabbath day, no work, only rest, prayer and family time. I have found that I am happier .. and so is my family ;-)

James, bravo my man--love to cook as well--but going to my little Bro's for thanksgiving (he's 6'4 350lbs) hope he leaves some turkey for the rest of us. Won't bore you except for this one, as I call them "Horsedivers". Take a tablespoon olive oil - 2 tablespoons chopped garlic (saute' till soft, not browned) then pour in 16 oz whipping cream and bring to a gentle boil (careful) take 16 oz of crumbled gorgonzola cheese (4 oz at a time) and mix into the cream until all is pretty smooth. Pour into a bowl and serve with toasted bread pcs--add some diced shallot to the garlic if you wish. Won't last long enough to cool--believe me. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Becca, it's sort of like blue cheese but not quite as strong. Jimbo, saw my little bro tonight--he's a gentle giant--the best!

MMm.......we love hummus too...with pita chips! Today I'm making pies...pumpkin and pecan, mostly the traditional turkey/dressing/mashed potatoes/ caramelized brussel sprouts and onions (my personal favorite!!) We are fans of the food network...so I salivate watching the days before Thanksgiving! I'm so glad to hear your mother is doing better, James....that is such good news! Happy Thanksgiving!!
