I read the pope wants the church to be poor as so many people in the church are. Sounds like it might rain in hell if this happens.

Just wondering Ruben, if I go, will the lady in picture 12 be there? If not a mountain view would---NO--Just wondering again..

I love Argentina, always have done since 1978 and Mario Kempes. I'm in no way religious, but I do hope the new Pope brings decency back to his religion and reveals where need be the pariah's that have been uncovered in the media recently. As for your comment on serial killers, all governments have had them. Your Junta's, the UK, America with their CIA, etc etc are the ultimate serial killers.

It's so nice to see you here, James! You're completely right, during the Military Junta up to 30,000 people were killed or disappeared. When I said "serial killer" I was thinking about Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer...

Hmm, I usually get in trouble when I jump into these, let's see, friendly conversations, sooo as a non practicing Episcopalian, I am here to wish our dear Ruben congratulations for the recognition of his native country. Also it's unusual for Chris to have an opinion about things so I'm very surprised here (must have been the choir boy years)--just kidding Chris LOL

Ha! Good one, Cornelius Corndogicus, you Roman sympathizing mongrel-cur! The Rebel Forces have moved you higher up the list. You're building quite a reputation for yourself! Before long, the priority list will have you placed just below Popette Francis I and George Dubyah!

That's was funny...but you have to accept that we like his opinions even if our ideas are diametrically opposite. Thanks for the congrats.

Ruben, I realize some of these photos are professionally enhanced, but Argentina looks absolutely beautiful! I would live there over America, any day.

Although the economy is stable, during the last years, we're having security issues ... crime increasing, etc ... but not serial killers yet! : )

Of course, the USA is beautiful too. Geographically. Maybe I am naive, but the Argentine culture is a bit less degenerative?

Well, I think every little place in the world has its beauty, its charms. Argentina is a big country (8th in the world) and have all the climates through different regions (plains, rain forests, swampland, deserts, mountains...) like USA.

Ah Chris you know it does no good to rant like that, there are good and bad folk in every faith. I do realize any faith which has a dogma raises primarily sheep, the sheep can be herded by ANY so they really should beware. I have a good feeling about Pope Francais. I think I will hold onto it for awhile.

Doobie, are you taking this stuff seriously again? I think you would be one of the easiest people to pull April Fool's on. Hey, if you have a good feeling about Popette Francis I, right on, good for both of you then.

I just heard on the news that the pope asked for the people of his country to give the money they were going to use to travel to Rome for his sake..to give that money to the poor..thats a nice start..considering the pagan world We all live in.Unfortunately some priests did grand mistakes yes but fortunately many other priests pick orphans from streets..feed them, educate them..and make of them men and women. From my island many catholic priests give their whole life to people in 3 world countries. They travel so far from luxury and commodities..The world is made of people..the vatican 2..since we are people and weak its going to be far from perfect..but i dont believe every catholic should burn

Romans are/were just like any culture/civilization -- the pros and cons that come with it all. I love Roman mythology and the debauchery that comes with the whole Roman package deal. I even love Popette Francis I.

Nah! Be gentle with Charmaine. Remember that for the Catholicism, the Catholic Church means all its followers. That's Charmaine interpretation. But...wait a minute...we're here to enjoy the pictures from Argentina! : )

Ruben, I enjoy the photos of Argentina -- many lovely peaks! But as far as the Popette goes, if the time spent on choosing a new Popette and dressing him up in cute little dresses and big hats, was instead spent on addressing the real issues, this would be such a better alternative compared to how the present RC Church runs under the strings of the Popette-Masters. For this I refuse to condone the Popette. Down with the Popette! Down with the Roman Catholic Church! Down with the Papal Hell Hounds, those sick sodomite pedophiles! Sic semper evello mortem Tyrannis!!!! Sic semper evello mortem Tyrannis!!!!(Intriguing how this current Popette has old-guard dictatorial ties, and the last Popette, "Nazi von Ratzenburgers and Schnitzel", also had former dictatorial ties. I suppose when the Vatican sent gold to Hitler to help him fund places such as Auschwitz, this was a form of revenge against the very people who denounced Jesus Christ as being the real Messiah. The new Popette sure doesn't seem to like gays at all....which is ironic considering many RC Priest's taste for choir boys. All in the name of doing business within the organized crime of the holy).

St. Malachy, eh? "at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed" -- Yes! There's nothing like the smell of Rome burning in the morning.

"In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End."

I think the chose was a good one for mankind, now if we could either have a married Pope or a Pope and a Popess? That would be truth for these figureheads are meant to represent the best of humanity and to do that there must be both a male & female present aye? nay?

Do you know the story about the female Pope? During the Middle Ages, Pope Joan allegedly reigned for a few years. She was a talented and learned woman who disguised herself as a man, she rose through the church hierarchy, and eventually she was elected pope. (?)
