Barbara Gorelick's Blog
 I was born and raised in northern California in the land of the glorious redwoods. My father worked in the lumber industry and my brother and I had a simple but wonderful childhood. Off to the big city to become a nurse and all these years later I still am.
I was married for many years, have 2 grown boys and 2 young grandsons..Jordan and Elliot. Me proud? You betcha..it truly is the best thing about growing older. On my own now and enjoying all that I can cram into my life.
I love music.. am a life long member of The Friends of Jose Carreras..poetry and music are my loves.I am a technaphobe..so bear with me while I figure this all out.

Hello soupers...I just returned from a little vacation to the Redwoods in Northern California. We stopped at a place called" Trees of Mystery" and I found this poem engraved on a redwood plaque in front of a group of trees called The Cathedral...I thought you might like to read it...this is just a couple of stanzas..written by J Strauss..who believe it or not..was an engineer on the Golden Gate Bridge..enjoy.. This is their temple, vaulted high,
And here we pause with reverent eye.
With silent tongue and awe struck soul,
For here we sense life's proper goal..
To be like these, staight, true and fine,
To make out world , like theirs, a shrine.
Sink down, Oh traveler, on your knees,
God stands before you in these trees...
