The germ of an idea . . . the central living part, good to eat and better to plant. This Magazine is a new print periodical of fresh, sincere, aesthetically stimulating verse and prose. They are now reading submissions for issue three!
This is a quarterly publication. New issues will be released in March, June, September, and December.
They have accepted a verse of mine for publication in the Summer Issue which is now available. The editing staff was very nice, kind, polite helpful. I would highly suggest you summit some new work to them. It also would be great if you bought an issue it is a start up [but it is NOT necessary.]http://germ-magazine.com/issues.html
Below is an example from Volume 1 Issue Two
But Sheltered from the Sea by Collin Dodd
The sun sets at the end
of my crooked street,
and I duck into a bar.
Old ships of human beings
jostle in that port, seeking adventures,
exchange or home.
the strange entertainment of jaded lovers
emerge in the sheltering fog.
Rats run up and down the ropes,
between piers and boats.
New jokes scurry into the country.
And jokes run in stride with the drinks,
like storm without a center, changing the old stories,
making the strangers stranger still.
I'd like to see more of our fine poets represented here in the next issue! Though haven't money to pay yet, you will receive two copies of the Magazine if your verse is chosen for publication. I'd be glad to walk you through the process.
