Hello All
I am a 29 year old Welsh girl,with a great sense of humour.

Single by God's choice.

Am a registered Staff Nurse/Midwife, have had serious operation recently but now back in work albeit on shorter hours.
I live alone, except for Tilly my old Boxer bitch I rescued 6 months ago, she had a shyte life, but is happy beyond words now.

I love all your comments, some make me laugh out loud, some make me hmmm. lol

If I should ever miss a congrats. from any of you, please dont take it as an insult, just maybe a large vodka and coke got in the way.

I have noticed that there are poems posted with the form incorrect. i can understand new poets not knowing what form to put. But it does annoy me that a nice way of pointing this out isnt in place by the more experienced writers. ABC is the biggest culprit.

I personally send a soup mail and gently point this out and show them the way to form.

What do you all think?

please check out new poems and the abc form by the newer poets.

Not making a stand just a gentle pointer.....

Poetry without rules, is like playing tennis without a net ~ Robert Frost. I had blogged about this before and picked up the label as being a "form fanatic"... Not nice. So, now I leave "them" in their ignorance or willful disregard. My remedy is to ignore anything not correctly labeled - if I am looking to read a fine example of a sonnet, I refer to Andrea's poetry; if I wish to read fine examples of ..... You get my drift? lol, Senen..... That is an open invitation which I will accept. Just not grade me on my spelling...You might find that I bake with flower and and the effect might have a grave affect on my poetry, I belief.... lol ;-)

Oh, I miss Nancy Jones! She was such a hoot! She'd often use the forms as a way to state how she felt about a subject. For example, she's cheesed at the government for being stupid, her poem would be three lines of what is so hard to understand you bunch of crooks. She'd label it ABC. As in elementary education, folks. Then if she wrote about liars, it would be FIBonacci. If she really cheesed, CHOK-a... I am not sure how many got her wisdom. I did. Miss that chick. You'd have liked her, I think. Bold. She was part of the "occupy" movement, a peacenik for this decade. I'm of the mind, its all about the words... you can call cheesecake liver, but one taste and you know what it is. :D xox

Thank you Cyndi for stopping by. Think I wish I hadnt started this subject. I know how hard it is to find the right form to what you have written, I have had same probem with my last poem. Didnt know what so said free verse waiting for someone to enlighten me. Then will change it.

Back to judging! It's 11 pm here. I like what you said about us all being different. We all have our pet peeves. Me? Free verse written one word per flipping line, 90 lines! What the??? Makes me wanna send em to the blackboard, write the whole thing in a paragraph. LOL.

I have stated before that I wish there was a control boxes to tick, each time we post a poem. They would say something like, a) I just write for fun. Hope you enjoy! b) Looking to grow as a poet. comments welcome. c) This poem needs work. Please, help!

I have already rambled like crazy on Harry's blog, maybe I should keep my mouth shut for a while? I try to choose the proper form. But each to their own I suppose. Aside from people who just don't know, there is a growing counter-culture of mostly young(but I have met 60-90 year-olds in this group)writers who purposefully don't put in the proper form. It is supposed to be some sort of statement that content means more than stuffy rules and labels. I am not claiming to fully understand this. The downside for me when it comes to people simply labelling a poem with ABC, is that I generally don't read ABC poems. But now that I realize some ABC poems aren't really ABC poems, I have been opening poems labelled as ABC and finding some real gems. There has been a lot of debate in the past about how it is rude for someone to wrongly label a poem, especially if the reader is specifically wanting to read a certain form, only to find something else. The way I look at it is, at any given point in a day, there are 2 Billion people starving. I'll survive the mis-labelled form issue. Besides, some mis-labelled poems are 10 times better than some of the poems written by people who are sticklers for rules and categorization.

Hullo, Seren. I wasn't implying that you are a stickler for rules. Yes, you appeared to ask a question, and I most likely didn't answer it. With the counter-culture aspect, I am simply attempting to practice Discordianism by possibly adding a different viewpoint.
