OPPOSITE OF LOVE

Passion is not only the prerogative of poets. If you have ever watched politicians in action, one might be excused for thinking that they were fresh out of the sandpit at the kindergarten.
The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference. If someone should take the trouble to correct your ways, it is a sign that that person cares enough about you to take the trouble to comment.

Rita Schiano (born April 20, 1955) is an American writer of Italian descent. In 1997, Schiano's first novel, Sweet Bitter Love, was published by Rising Tide Press (NY). Schiano serves up passion, courage, and clear-eyed honesty in this dramatic debut novel about the emotionally-gripping sides of alcoholism and recovery.
Poetry is our chosen vehicle of expression. Let your passions be the pen and love be the ink. My poem, When We Met, is based on my second marriage. The first one was based on indifference.
WHEN WE MET
When we met, I instantly recognized you
Nothing in the world, could have been more true
Than the smile in your eyes
Your embrace enfolded my quivering frame
I gladly accepted the offer to take your name
My heart shouted and still cries
Together we will forge an idyllic future
Our past memories will no longer torture
Reaching to golden new highs
