This sounds like a great entry for the adultery contest. I also love tanka, but too much of the same thing does get boring. That is the western mindset. In the orient, most poets use only one form, and try to write 'perfect' poem.

I tend to agree with you, Joann. My poetry forms of preference are Free Verse and Quintella. Only since joining soup, have I explored other avenues. Not that I regret it.... It keeps the old grey cells alive :-) Hope you are enjoying your weekend :-) Love, Su

I enjoyed your poetry this morning. I'm thankful a few other contests other than tankas showed up. They're good. but too much of any one thing at a time can run people away. If you'd like some funny ones... Jack Ellison and Susan Byrd would be a momentarily refreshing change... before jumping back into the more deeper forms. I enjoy reading the results on all the contests. I'm learning a lot from the blogs. Sincerely your friend.

Hello Suzette, how are you? You're right, the 'hackers' thing is baffling. I saw a comment on someone's poem and the commenter didn't even have a name. It was totally blank(how is that even possible?!!!). Anyway, to serious matters - I love your poem. The way you've interchanged the refrain is very interesting. It would be grand if the list of poetry forms is revised to enable members to discover new forms(sigh). Have a lovely weekend, won't you?

Yes, I have written to PS kindly requesting that they list new poetry forms - I'm a bit bored with the current list.... :-) Hope you are well, Vicky and enjoying the weekend so far. BTW I have removed my post regarding the suspected hacker because I think that some people join Soup and change their minds - then cancel their membership.... I blocked that person anyway (just to be on the safe side).
