I find it strange that whenever I share my writing with someone(esp woman). They get put off. I know I'm a pretty ok writer, might I even say good. I don't understand it, I thought woman liked poetry. Am I missing something? Or am I just old fashioned?

That has been my experience also. Women these days seem to idolize a man who will make them do the running. I think they see gentlemen as spineless nonentities, mistaking boorish behavior for manliness.
