My career field of journalism taught me that readership dictates a creative writer’s success.  Audience communication is most important for book, magazine and newspaper sales.  Biting wit, bonding likeness, and bold images full of twists and turns grab the reader…not a pointless presentation of vocabulary or meaningless lines that lack flow, pulse or rhythm.  Write for others, with emotion, about what you know, edit, proof, revise your poem and watch your readership grow.  Rockwell is a favorite of mine.  His creations stroke the heart in the way I would like my poetry to soothe the soul._Caryl

nonpareil definition: model of excellence or perfection of a kind; one having no equal

Absolutely Caryl. Being able to express myself, albeit amateurly has unveiled my serenity and relieved my soul. peace Fathima

Rockwell painted Americana like no other. Nothing fancy. Just what the viewer could relate to. Each writer, like aritsists in other fields will bring his own style and have his own crowd. Same as music. Ned Miller had a song "Do What You do, Do well." Good advice for everyone. Vince

Caryl, I could not agree more. We as poets, authors, must pur ourselves upon the page as paint upon a canvas, revealing not so much that we know hoe to speak or write, but a message. After all the art is not in the vocabulary itself, but how we use the vocabulary. ~ Michael
