Things I Wish to Share - Michael Jordan's Blog

<div align="justify">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As you all know I stared writing poetry in hopes of finding myself after a lifetime of addiction. How well did my poetic endevores work? On January second I was driving our son and his wife to the Sacramento Airport and we stopped by the local Chevron to buy gas. As I was pulling back onto the road I found a Black zip up binder laying on the edge of the road so I stopped and grabbed it up. Proceeding down I-5 towards the airport I told my son, "See what is inside."The binder contained a passport, checkbook, bankcard, Business info and an envelope which contained 16 fifty-dollar bills and eight twenty-dollar bills. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; You must understand that there was once a time I would have pocketed every dime of the money and sent every dope fiend in the country out with the bankcard and checks leaving that 69 year old man with nothing but a headache. Every account he had would have been bled dry in a matter of hours. Especially considering that Christmas left my wife and I as broke as broke could be!<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When I returned home I called the Willows P.D. and and told them that I wished to turn it in. As I told them the contents; saving the money until the end, at which point the lady taking the call said, "RReeaaly. The police officer showed up and it just happened to be Officer Meeks. You see Officer Meek's and I have a past. The last time I was sent to prison it was officer Meek's who transported me there letting me know that it was putting folk like me behind bars that made her job worth while. She said that she would have never dreamed that she would one day end up telling me, "Michael, you have become one of the most honorable, if not the most honorable citizen I have ever met." At which point my daughter looked at her and said,"thats my dig daddy right there." I reckon rewards don't get much better than that.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I ended up taking several workshops over the winter break and doing some work to our home and now school is starting back up tomorrow. I have made a decision&nbsp; to renew&nbsp; my membership&nbsp; on the site; however,&nbsp; I will only be commenting.&nbsp; I do not plan to enter any more contest or post anymore poetry because I feel it unfair to post without answering and I just don't have the time for both. Yes, I remember reading your poem where you mentioned in one line watching your mother drown at the age of 4 and it struck me profoundly. My minister's lesson this morning was on getting beyond needing to know why things happen in our lives, but to know that all that happens is for our good. Would you have ever turned to God to guide and heal your life without that experience? Who knows, but the story you've shared here tells me you've made Holy Spirit very glad today.
