Tracking and Editing Comments on the Soup - Suzanne Delaney's Blog

It is always a bit daunting when you first join a Poetry Site- especially one as diverse
as Poetry Soup.  I know many folks are short on time and don't get a chance to leave a lot of comments on other's poems. The validation key can slow us down. For a few days I thought I had to make my letters uppercase and sometimes they would switch to lowercase even though I had the shift key on...so then I discovered it works with lowercase letters.  That was a huge revelation and a relief.

Then, when I was making comments on others' poems, I  made some errors in the message fields that showed up after I  posted them OOPs too late,  and  there seemed no way to edit them, but surprise ......If you look in the left  Navigation Bar in Member Area you will see My Outboxes and there you will find all the comments you have made and a little button to EDIT them. WOW I edited a couple of mine and sure enough they were all  fixed.   I could also see who I had made comments on so I knew where to go back and see their replies.
Then I looked in my Soupmail inbox and beside where email comes in is another tab called Comments Inbox, and in there are all the recent comments folks have added to your poems all in one place that you can scroll down.

Now, I may be telling you all something you have already figured out for yourselves but if not, I hope it makes things easier to  keep track of your social life - in this big SoupPot

Suz, when I came to this blog I was noticing the OTHER suz's name right above you and I thought that I was talking to the other one when I made my comment. No, you are very new, so this is very natural for you to not yet know these things. It takes a couple of months to get them down. If you ever have questions, you can ask me. Maybe even I (as low tech as I am) can give you some good info. Andrea Dietrich Date: 4/5/2013 4:28:00 PM oh my Suz, this is hilarious to me that you didn't know this stuff yet, especially about the inbox to see all your comments. I really think Soup needs a set of rules for people to go and see how to do it. We are not all spring chickens who understand web sites here. Good blog!
