A little story I read today

An elderly man lay dying in his bed when he recognized the aroma of his wife's chocolate chip cookies, his favorite cakes
He wanted so desperately one last slice of cake before he died
He rolled himself out of bed, crawled and dragged himself down the stairs to the kitchen where his wife had a tray of cakes on the table
She was about to add a new tray of cookies into the oven.

With the last remaining powers he had, he managed to climb up on a kitchen chair before he slumped over the kitchen table and stretched out his hand to reach up the freshly hot cake.

The wife spun around, slapping the man on hand with wooden spoon and said:

"Do not touch them ...... They are meant for your funeral."
