God ..... Who Knows?

Blog Posted:11/5/2010 11:03:00 PM
We have had as a species to get this one right 200,000 years ... and we still fall short of the mark. We can’t decide as a whole exactly who to believe in. is it GOD, Allah, Ba'al, Zeus, or the many other varied forms of deities that we create in our dreams that seem to give our life meaning. Do not misread me in this, I ABSOLUTELY believe in God as the Creator of all that is i just think that the instruction book that he left for man to write could have been a little more detailed. The bible says that Jesus did not come to abolish the law ... he came to fulfill it, if that is the case then why are we still repenting. Why must we, every day tell another "man" ... that’s all he is (call him priest, father, or rabbi) he’s still just a man, of our sins and make amends through him to reach our Father when it says in his book that Jesus is the ambassador to God. How is a priest more able than I to "talk" to our Lord and Savior? "If you confess with your mouth the lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead then you shall be saved". Why do we need more than this, why must we go to an intermediary to get the fulfillment of salvation when that intermediary is just a man ... or woman whose follies are exactly the same as our own.... being human.

And this too begs the question.... Where is God?? It says in the Bible that He is in all things, He hears all, knows all, and sees all and in that same book, in the book of Matthew He turns His face from his own son because He is "not able" to look upon the face of sin. Jesus cried out to him ... he said "eloi, eloi lemma sabachthani" witch means ... Father, Father, why have you forsaken me. At the moment that Jesus took all the worlds sins into himself to save man God, in all his power could no longer look at his own son. God sent him here for this purpose and this purpose alone and yet at the end when he fulfilled his mission God turned away. So where is God.... everywhere ther is no sin, and in a world such as ours that isnt very many places.

I’m sorry if i have offended some people out there by speaking my mind, it was not my intention to offend anyone. I just have questions that it seems there aren’t any answers too. I’m sure that someone can give me the answers that they think are right and to them I’m sure that they are, but i need answers that only i can get on my own.

Again this is another addition of Ryland’s Raves thanks for reading!

Yeah! Oleg! There's nothing as appreciated and necessary for getting the job done (God's job or anyone elses) as a "good tool" and I'm serious! I'll be a good tool in the hands of Higher Power!

I have read with great pleasure short excursus to the history of religions written by Deborah. The point is that one should be eager to self-fullfilment in the life. If one does, the presence of God will be felt and the life will be happier. )

We are part of and inside of (as God is inside of us) the body of God. We were made for a purpose we may never know. We can function, rightly for the health of all or we can fail and be "discarded" its up to us to see our own worth and live it.

The New Testament was originally in Greek or Aramaic. Christians translated both Testaments into Coptic, Ethiopian, Gothic, and Latin. St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate (405) was the standard Christian translation for 1,000 years. New learning in the 15th–16th century generated new translations. Martin Luther translated the entire Bible into German (1522–34). The first complete English translation, credited to John Wycliffe, appeared in 1382, but it was the King James version (1611) that became the standard for more than three centuries. ***As seems very obvious to me...the Bible is the word of man, many men.

The translation of the Torah into Greek caused irreparable damage. The Torah was given to us in one language and one language only. The nuances, subtleties, and implications of the specific words chosen are lost in translation. The "70 facets of Torah" which our Sages wrote about can't readily be seen or gleaned from a translation. In addition, when one translates, one is forced to chose a specific interpretation that he or she feels best express the meaning of the original words. Alternate meanings or interpretations are discarded. It was this aspect of the translation of the Torah that was most harmful. It gave license for people to begin explaining the Torah as they saw fit, ignoring other relevant and applicable meanings that came from Sinai as well. The teachings of the Sages were disregarded, and the holy words of the Torah were corrupted.

Hey friend you know, you pose the question that started the Protestant reformation ;) First off you need to understand the historic origin of the bible you are quoting. The Jewish Torah came first. The Books of Moses formed the "core" of the Old Testament. Now, here's the fly in the ointment, the Jews wrote this as the oral history of the Jews. The Torah was meant to be a living document constantly "open for discussion", as to meaning since they new it came from "word of mouth" which is distorted by repition. The Greek King forces a handful of Rabbi's to may a single interpetition of the Torah OR...not get let out? He imprisioned them. So, they gave him one and were "freed"

Ryland, if you are a very spiritual person, you must simply pray for the answer. That's what I have always been told. I would imagine God would respond becuase HE said "Knock and I will answer." Many whom I know and love have gained "enlightenment" that way. And yet some of them have found God through different religions, etc. If I were of a more spiritual nature, I would be one here trying to tell you more absolutely. All I know is that I sincerely believe our souls go on forever. I cannot imagine death being the final chapter. Lots more I could say,but I'll just stop here! Andrea

"God" is everywhere and in everything. When all dualities, spirits and natures are combined, the outcome is not a "he"....
