Constructive Criticism - Jared Pickett's Blog

I have met many people here on the soup, lifetime friends all with a common desire, poetry. Poets like Linda-Marie Bariana, Catie Lindsay, A Poet Destroyer, Charmaine Chircop, Nette Onclaud and that is to name a few. I say this because we found each other through poetry. Commenting on the work of others WILL get your poetry read. When I was a newbie I would find it annoying that I would post my work, have thirty or so views and no comments. That hurts!! I realized that in order to make friends and gain exposure I had to read as well as write! Comment instead of just review. If you read it and don't leave your stamp how am I to branch out from my circle of friends and know who to visit. Like any good writer I thrive on the opinions of my fellow soupers, I look forward to what you have to say, GOOD OR BAD!! All I ask is that if you read my work please stop in and say something, tell me what you like or despise about it. I mean keep it rated like a Disney movie, I want to know. 
I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way!!
I look forward to making new friends because many new faces have emerged in my 18 month absence. I have a lot of work to do, see you soon!!!Asavvy1

This is not a vent session, nor am I blasting any one poet/poetess!! I just really needed to get that out.

What you are saying is SO useful to people who feel sad or left out. I wish they would heed your advice. You just have to work really hard to leave notes for others and then they will often do the same back!! Glad to see you here again!! I've said before that I wish people would just say they loved it, hated it, didn't understand it, etc. and why; I think that kind of feedback is important and allows one to grow as an artist. I wish I had more time to leave comments and review more work, but it seems like I am always busy with different projects and just life in general. Great blog!
