Friday Night at the Poetry Cafe

Hi Y'all,

How about inviting some of the kids to the olde Cafe tonight?

We could have a pizza party.Maybe get to know some cool young writers.

There's a lot of promising young talent on the Soup.They give things a fresh spin.

I know in our busy world it is hard to find the time to read as many pieces as we would like.

If we try to check out one of the younger one's work now and then,it encourages them and gives us a new perspective.

Besides ,they are part of our poetry family and we care about them.

It's pretty smaltzy in here tonight.Somebody is playing "Autumn Leaves" on the piano.

I guess because so many of us are writing about the Fall.

I love this old beat up seat beside the picture window.Sometimes I'm glad there is no back entrance here.

There are some strange goings on out there in the Dream Demention tonight.Ernesto is that you swirling through again?

There are a lots of young poets coming along. I wish I could find the time to read all of the poetry they post on PoetrySoup. I wish that everyone would write poetry. This would be a far use more peaceful world. Bill

John I agree with you about the young poets being so good with their writings.I try to read some of their writes each day. From some of the writes I just can't believe they are this young. I have to get out the dictionary at times. It is wonderful to see so many interested in poetry. Carol

Hey! Great evening! Heck with autumn leaves, I'm ready for snow. Light up that bar-b-q pit out back, maybe the youngsters would be willing to do a reading? Where IS everybody? Maybe it's a bit early. Man, I am starved. I'll go see what's on the "specials" board this evening. Anybody else? Come on Donald, let's get something in that tummy first.

young poets in the soup should come...i have read a lot of their work and i am very impressed and proud of this kids....i must say a lot of them even write better than i do...nice to know that poetry lives on and i am assured it will continue to live in grow in the hearts of the young poets...lovely evening at the cafe:)-john e
