The Comment That Became A Poem

So, here is what happened…
I was reading some poems the other day and read one posted by Mystic Rose (MR), titled, “Love and Death”. I am an admitted sparse commenter and habitual offender of reading and not commenting. But, when I do leave a comment, I try to relay what the poem meant to me; the message I gathered the poet was intending me to take away. I try to do more than simply say, “I like your poem”. Many of you probably don’t know this … because I leave so few comments. Sorry.
MR’s poem “Love and Death” was one that moved me to let her know that I got it and it meant something to me, so I left a comment.
Lo and behold, MR took my comment, added structure and form to it and reposted it as a poem paying homage to me for leaving, (her sentiment), a wise comment. This poem is titled, “Thank You Joe Flach”.
I am honored and flattered by MR’s thought here. Certainly, I was not writing a poem – I was simply leaving a comment telling MR what I got out of her poem. The real poem is “Love and Death”. All of this is simply a great example of what it means to be a member of PoetrySoup; mutual love, respect and admiration among some really terrific members of this site.
I am so glad to be a member of this Internet community and wish to thank all of you for the time and effort you put in into making this such a wonderful escape from the other world in which I live.
Thanks MR! And thanks to all of you.
Joe
