A New Play

X: “You heard that? A new play, let’s go”
A: “Ah, what play? You know I’d never do so…”
X: “Umm… but it’s really good, come on…”
A: “Yeah whatever, but I’ll sleep and turn off my phone”
X: “Ok, whatever, just come, it seems really nice”
And so the story started, a play called “The Dice”

A: “Is this it? ‘The Dice’? huh, really interesting…”
X: “You don’t even know what it’ll be showing”
A: “Hmm… let me think, what else, boring stuff”
X: “No, it’ll talk about sacrifices and LOVE!”
A: “Huh, see? Nothing more than absolute boredom”
X: “No, it’s about life and how you gain freedom…”

The stage was empty, as the actors were behind the curtain
X: “Wow, I can’t bear this excitement, nothing seems certain”
A: “Except that the heroes will win and they’ll get married…”
X: “Who knows, maybe it’ll end with the hero getting buried”
A: “Huh, I’d love to see that happening… at least some change”
“Now come on, let’s sit here and not keep a lot of range”

The play started, and the actors entered the stage under the light
A: “(yawn) And here we go… can’t wait to finish this night”
X: “Ok, just keep silent so I can watch. See? it starts nicely”
A: “Sure it does” When the actress came in, he watched blindly
For she imprisoned his heart in her beauty and her smile
He never closed his eyes, or it took him a while…

The actress mesmerized him, yet he never thought she’s fake
He wanted to tell her “I like you” yet consequences he didn’t take
And when the play ended, the actress married the hero happily
He detested the hero, and wanted to take her alone foolishly
The hero was his friend, yet he never cared at all
He jumped on stage and took the sword from the wall

He swung the sword and killed his friend, and then looked
He saw the makeup, and thought that she’s ugly and took
The sword from the ground… yet dropped it down
He realized that he was acting like a stupid clown
He looked at her from the outside and acted in a haste
He never knew her, and he couldn’t possibly wait

He killed his friend just to get her, and he was too blind
She was beautiful from the inside, yet he didn’t know how to act
Decided his crime by himself, all due to his blindness from within
In few days he made mistakes, ones that he never believed in
Making it impossible for the audience to just watch and enjoy
Alarming the world that he’s a fool, and he’s just a blind boy
