the value

Written by: Oluwamayowa Emmanuel

The tree
has fallen
The
domestic
choose the
ways of the
wild
Rules are
broken
Things fall
apart
The virgin
have lost
her virginity

Where is
our aged
father?
They have
follow the
old whether
Who shall
immortalise
this?
Its loosing
its value
The infant
are blind
Who shall
open their
eye?

The old
value I
desire to
drink its
water
But the
fallen rain
polluted it
Let dance
to the beat
of the gong
But our feet
are fixed to
the rhythm
of another
drum

We can not
see the
value
Come!he
becone at
us
The infant
are weak
They have
lost the skill
The old are
mute
Their voice
crack
Who shall
exhume the
value From
the grave
the grave of
our aged
father?

The
value,still
fresh in the
memory of
the old
But the
infant are
blank of it
Let the
domestic
restrain the
wild
Let the
ancestors
be called
upon
But can the
value
stand?
