Space

Written by: Robert Pettit

To me, trees and flowers have an inestimable worth. Those are the gifts the Creator gave us on the earth. Here on the Valley Forge, we have taken some of earth into space. We have preserved some of nature’s beauty destroyed by the human race. Would I prefer your synthetic nourishment? I would say “nope”! Give me some natural food like a nice sweet cantaloupe. I will not follow orders and demolish our nature dome. Other ships have done so, and are headed for home. Dewey, our omnipresent flora must stay growing. Keep our forest green with the streams ever flowing. Dewey, I leave you in charge while Huey and I leave. You will never see us again, but please do not grieve. Based on the 1971 film “Silent Running”
