Dangers of Taking God's Place

Written by: Richard Lamoureux

I woke up believing I was Lord
What a foolish man I have become
one day I'll be cut down by a sword

Him in my image, I must be dum
My limitations are way to great
What a foolish man I have become

I believe in nothing maybe fate
My days darker than the darkest night
My limitations are way to great

Spiritual blindness devoid of light
I have a soul I can't satiate
My days darker than the darkest night

Love has left me I am joined to hate
Seeking pleasure in a different place
I have a soul I can't satiate

One day I will see God face to face
He will decide the time and the place
I will wake up and know I'm not Lord
Just a human felled by my own sword

Providing alternate perspective, not meant to be disrespectful.
Thanks Abdul for the challenge. For me I believe in more than me,
I know myself to well to believe I am capable of being or creating
God.
