I cried for you sweet Gena
With tears concealed by rain
And on the ground around you
Hangs dew of salty pain

A town came together for young Gena
They prayed for her not to go
Hope and faith became more real
That winds of passing would not blow

We came to your funeral precious Gena
Upon our shoulders, daughters cried
Wondering why, like other children
The reason that their friend had died

But don't you worry young ones dear
It's okay to shed a tear
For she's in heaven, and in a while
The sun will rise to reflect her smile
