'Snow My Beloved'

Written by: Broken Wings

I open the gate to the park Winter twilight is dense and full The sky falls to a shadow And trees and ground blend Ebbing into vagueness . . . The path is wet under my feet Little frills of ice adorn things Crystalline and frosty Suddenly full of snowflakes Enchanting and beautiful . . . I am left breathless Snow floating amongst the trees I can feel his sweet touch On my hair, on my cheek No sound except his silence I stand still in his embrace . . . All my world is quiet and tranquil Except my beloved whispering snow Drifting, floating, hovering about me I whisper, "I love you" But I know in my heart he will go And be but a memory lost . . .
