Bitter-Sweet Dream

Written by: Caleb Smith

I stumble through this life
Winding path of my soul in which I find no aid
This trail was never broken
For it was never made

Onward, my heart but a stone covered by moss
Northward, in this coffin's bed
I feel no loss
Look out from thy window and see
My passion and pain
Touch my burning breast with your lips
Consume my fire
Just speak my name

Oh, that my days with you would not end
With the dying sun
For my eyes see naught but you, my dear
Until my time is done

And then I'll welcome bitter sleep
For bitter it would seem
Because sleep can't tame me
No!
I miss you when I dream
