That Hawthorn

Written by: James Peranteau

Mine fairy love
floats with crystalline wings
‘bout her lovely tree

In the early summer, her peek
flutters ‘bout
causing burst of mine declaration;
I’m in love !

Throughout the white clusters
mine fairy hears mine shout

And when, “All fruits fail”,
mine fairy
with her gift,
yes,
that red fruit
in September…
fluttering about,
with her,
crystalline wings;

She too shouts
