A Bloody Rose

Written by: Expressive Child

It was coloured in crimson red,
shining with elegance in it's bed,
beautiful and seductive it was....
with an odd but alluring scent...
It felt like a passionate kiss,
as I inhale it's gusting whiff....
and feel the tenderness of it's petals....
like an affectionate touch of romance..
my visions are painted with paradise...
an admiration of a defined beauty.....

But deception was in the air...
in the very facade of my eyes.....
yet I walk through without sight of it..
unaware of the hurt long inflicted...
foolishly seduced by a fatal attraction..
layered with a venomous fragrant.....
I hear a deceitful laughter from nowhere..
as the seductress reveals it's masquerade..

Alas,I can only look in utter pain....
the imbecile that reflects in the mirror..
for I disregard those words of wisdoms..
when they say loving eyes are blind..
and lovers often lose their mind.....
They sail and drift into delusion...
that fleets away from the truth....
and it's fallacy that they embraced...
Only when their hearts are pricked,
and souls smeared with red......
That they're enlightened and now see,
the silver thorns of a bloody rose...
