The Peace of Ignorance

Written by: FABIYAS M V

Tumor has made its hut
In the barren field of brain.
Hearing that the doctor
Has fixed her day, they all stand
In queue in front of the hut.

Before the eyes that do stare,
Her wrinkled body is frozen.
‘Six months more’,the doctor says.
Scissors cannot play on her.
Help is less and hope is less.

Months die one by one
On the walls, and are reborn.
Still her heart ticks like an old clock.
She grasps it and gets up
With her tumor like a rock.

She is born new like a phoenix
Under the peace of ignorance.
