Thanksgiving

Written by: Melody Coster

Father of all we thank thee
 now on bended knee
for all thy blessings rich
 spread lavishly.
We thank thee for the sun
 which daily shines
the soft wind in the pines
the restless sea which surges
 all day long
and soothes our hearts
 with its' sweet plaintive song.
We thank thee for the stars at night
 that twinkle in the sky
the mountains old
 whose fingers point to thee
to lift our hearts
 set fettered spirits free.
We thank thee for the love
 in all mens' hearts
which knowledge
 of this sacrifice imparts.
We thank thee most
 on bended knee
for thy great gift
 of our mortality.
