Thank You

Written by: Virginia Mitchell

It’s such sweet savor to say your name
Nothing else now can nurture the same
Thank you for the teaching; It’s not about fame
Thank you for breaking the bonds of blame
Thank you for love’s lessons on playing life’s game
Thank you for saving me from sickness and shame
Thank you, your blessings keep me from being broken and lame
“Thank you!” flows freely from a contrite heart of this old dame.
“Thank you.” is whispered for wisdom your words frame
Thank you for helping my spirit be settled, secure and tame
“Thank you!” I’m perfect in peace and pardoned from shame
Thank you for the day I was brought to beauty’s bright flame
Nothing else now can nurture the same
It’s such sweet savor to say your name
