128 Crayolas

I could never choose
just one colored crayon
to paint my world.
For I see purpose
in all life,
reason
in all things,
and colors
play their parts.
My blue crayon colors the skies.
But not alone,
because gray and white temper
the mood of radiant blue
While a bright yellow sun
radiates pinks and oranges
to create sky-blue pink.
Fields of lush green grass
cover hillsides dotted with
yellow dandelions,
while satin red cardinals
perch on lilac blooms.
And what color is your heart?
Is it filled with love’s red?
Perhaps deep fuchsia
Bold
Emotions,
deep blue-green,
Calmness.
Crystal white for purity.
And yet I myself
Am
Red
Filled with fire and passion
Bold emotions, impulsive.
Impatient.
The color of blood.
The signal of warning.
The brightest color
in my box.
