As I look

Written by: Ciara Aiyana Ashley-Garn

As I looked at the moon
I reached for the sky
And I raised my hand
I still wonder why
I stretched my body
And as I closed my hand
Something was laid in my palm
I don't understand...
This star wasn't right
It was bent and distorted
This star wasn't too bright
It was small and light
I thought of throwing the star that laid in my hand
Throwing it and stomping it into the sand
I stopped and stared and relized the gift
I knew it was something that would never drift
So i sat down and hummed
A song never sung
And it rung through the waves
A light beating drum...
