i walk

Written by: james faulkner

Cash for clothes
Unnecessary materials
As we sell our souls

Fleeing from thought
Believing in lies
Forgetting the struggles
We walk to our demise

Words of wisdom tampered
Action dictated by the sinister
The truth shattered in confusion
Between you, the world, and the minister
Revel to your hearts drum, and your heart’s only

Believe men can conquer Giants
In face of wickedness do not become frail
Stand strong, thought inflexible
Knowing that you will prevail

Wean your mind of the world’s cloth
Fear not rains or winds blown
Contentment rests within
Then, you shall “Walk on your own”
