Cold granite marks the spot,
luminous green grass the plot,
Icy fingers crush daisies she'd love.
Gray clouds cover azure blue,
My heart beats, I miss you,
Her eyes matched the azure above.
Rain soaked tears slide down pale cheeks,
Laughter echoes in silent streets.
A breeze bids, she was once there.
I held her hand, she slipped from me,
Now only, her remnant memory.
Skin soaked, too numb to care.
Crushed yellow daisies float down,
slowly to the mossy ground.
A promise, I will return,
Tomorrow is another day,
I still have more to say.
A silent prayer to times goneby
a kiss like a gentle sigh
a memory bids remember
Clouds part, azure shines through,
As if to say, I'll miss you too.
once upon a sweet September
