Asekrem, the world’s side (1)
I followed the mission of Charles Faucould: far away in the hot sands
Among the purple,violet and pink lonely rocks in the Lord`s hands.
We went round without knowing it, the same traces again and again.
We finished the water and saw the Fairy and felt the curse of Cain.
Forty days, I wandered through the ember of desert and I was lost;
But my dog carried me to the oasis of the Muslims: almost a ghost;
I dreamt I took part in all the crusades, including Gulf War, and all…
My friends started the play of the war in the large desert of the soul.
The wind is still singing the same thirsty, pathetic rhymes;
The people are fighting for the same salt of their hard times.
In stony towers at Tassli N`Ajjer, the same glorious dreams row;
The secret wonder of the desert: here, even the stones may grow…
I rested in the shadow that lonely rusts in the sun;
I looked at the seasons gathered for the same pun
About love and hope or deep faith’s pilgrimage…
The sad eyes of my old dog trembling in his cage…
I carried him away, in the green silence of the grass;
I covered his eyes like in a play as he had to guess
If I, his master could help him not to die in a foreign land.
With infinite sadness, I killed him and covered with sand.
There, on the old rocks, I drew my dog and I drew ahead, I drew ahead…
There, I saw the ancient pictures with the first hunters haunting big animals red.
