Aishat Oyebisi Oyetunji

A man may plan his life
Not his friends
Like air, they are free gifts
As one requires, not wants

l ran into her
On my way to class, on the bypass
Covered in a classic hijab
A symbol of islamic female integrity

She smiled graciously, like the queen
Elizabeth II of English land,
Her personality romanced my inquisitive person,
In her smile was an olive branch
A messenger of love and Peace,
Unlike false bearers
Who calls islam violence,

In her eyes, l see calmness,
Like a still water
In her smile, the rain
That nurtures forth fruits
That fruit has grown
Deeply rooted in our common humanity
That tree is friendship

A true muslim
Loving beyond beacons
Like the moon and the night
One can't be without the other

Shall l tell you about beauty?
The eyes are not sufficient to observe it
It is too massive for any one sense
But it must be felt from within
She is a beauty,
l° have beheld.

She boasts the minds of her forefathers
The soyinkas and awolowos
Ayesha is a gold mine
Yet to be tapped.
