What Has Happened To Society

What has happened to society?

Oh how I miss the olden days
When people helped everyone else
Now no-one does anything for nothing
People are just out for themselves

I remember the close-knit communities
Doing favours for one another
When young people had respect
For their father and their mother

It breaks my heart to think about
How much times have changed
Family-life a thing of the past
And kin-folk are estranged

The world is in the grip of a virus
And common sense is a thing of the past
People stockpiling goods whether needed or not
Spaces on supermarket shelves are vast

I'd like to say to panic-buyers
Filled with selfishness and greed
Please stop for a minute and think
Of the elderly and vulnerable in need

Only buy as much as you need
And leave food for everyone else
Consider other people's needs
And stop just thinking about yourself

Let us all be more considerate
And caring about our fellow man
Look out for one another
And cope the best that we can

Well thought and scribed! I was thinking of all the toilet paper hoarders who have left the poor with no choice but to flush wipes that will clog sewer systems and keep everyone at home busy with their plungers. There ARE consequences! Aloha! Rico
