Solo II

How can I deny these hours of clarity?
The love you crave is your pitch for acceptance
The possessive arms of need move stoop-shouldered
Its machismo up against the shroud of my maya

I wasn’t born to serve anyone else but me
You weren’t either, but you don’t know that yet
Lofty thoughts that snuggle you to sacrifice and forgiveness
Are alien to my pagan divinity that feeds me

How do I tell you my spirituality knows no sin?
Would you believe these sutras of existence?
They know no rules, no chains around my life
No colors on morality, no shadows on my soul

Ride the winds like you are meant to, like I do
Don’t wait for my love to turn into what you want
I love the only way I can, but you are lost in it
Find your freedom in my love, if you can

Though you must know that I belong only to me…

We are both passsionate women you and I, and we understand our inner passionate drives. Women like us feel and express what others of our own sex keep hidden within there selves, we are not afraid to speak or write our emotions. In other words we are the passionate ones, whom write from the heart and from the soul of our emotions. I'm glad you enjoyed my poem so much sorry it took so all to comment back. But I've been working alot and trying to do house repairs. I can't wait for Halloween. cd

For me I belonged to me, I gave myself to God, he in turn gifted me to my wife and she to me and I discovered myself. What I learned through scripture was that within God's rules existed my freedom. God was not keeping me from my life but rather providing his protection. What we humans view as freedom often leads to our bondage. We become slaves to our appetites. I like that your poem causes me to ponder.

I have to agree with karma. Responsibili ty to one's self is paramount when one considers he/she is exactly where he/she has put self. Taking on another's karma is indeed "stoop shouldering." Thanks for reading my stuff. Love, daver

I belong only to me,that line is deep and speaks volumes.Yes love is about giving and receiving love without losing or make the others lose thwir identity.Everyone of us is special in this life, from the most humble carpenter to the most successful lawyer, everyone should be free to be who she /he is and be loved for the beauty she/he represents-Lovely poem.

Hi Bindu! Glad I stopped by and found this excellent write waiting for me! To me this title means "Only You"....and for you to be mine you have to let go of all ties and let desires have their way. I understand that you won't serve, but will be only too glad to share! // paul

A heart owns only itself, Love is not oppression its about liberation which you say with such beautiful clarity, "Find your freedom in my love, if you can..." and I agree with your wisdom of Self, seek not acceptence, seek only the truth of your passion. Chains and love aren't meant for eachother. Your independence has a pure flavor. Enjoy love for what it is, not what you want it to be. Great poetry of self respect Bindu...J.A.B.
