Portrait from a time

A fascinating mind , his thoughts chisel away
I wake up to his voice that I have never heard
His silver mane always catch the moonlight of my dreams
His eyes draw the jade from the jungles I roam

Gnarled hands that teases music from every atom
They tinker on creation’s edge at all other times
Putting out his wishes on fairy-light garlands
I caught them for a short time when we flew over time

He wrote of cosmic clay and teased bio-art
Showed me bursting climax of quarrelsome quarks
He knew we were the delightful dalliance as spirals play
I am lost today, a fossil found in a fleeing mirage

He sang a master’s plan, and I the misconception
Roiling furious in a culture dish
Feathered, legged, or a flashing fish
Thoughts age, like wine fermenting

and God laughs
at this mere bubble in the mud...

God may laughs as a father laughs when his little one is doing something amazing! We all bubbles of His reason, all with a purpose of His divine plan. Excellent deep well expressed verse worthy of a " Bubble" of His, dear Bindu! A seven!

There is so much to consider here. I believe God laughs with pleasure, not in scorn at our insignificance. I think he is amused at the fact we are unable to contemplate our greatness. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece Bindu.

Continued..."Gnarled hands that tease music from every atom...He sang the master's plan and I the misconception." Thats a special partnership! Your alliteration is excellent! You put love in painful and powerful perspective in this poem, humbling, but also genuine in affection. Its okay to be magic mud:) J.A.B.

This poem ends with such ingenius and base humility Bindu, reducing the majesty of lover's dreams to the sludge of simple soil. Particles pompous in they're reach for greatness. On the contrary though the magnificent message suggest that all matter is infused with an intelligent drive to progress, bloom into something more than what it began as, a compounding beauty. There is a romantic disillusionment, a reverence for the Alimighty, and a awe of ambition herein. J.A.B.

Wonderfully creative and descriptive. The images fly off the page. I think everyone at some time thinks of themselves as a misconception. This one is pretty deep. So glad to see another one from you.

Bindu I'm glad you like my snow wolves and thank you for using the phrase in your poem that inspired me. These creatures are special to me also they are my native american guardian, a she white wolf, my protector I first saw her in a dream the night before my mother died, so they are very special to me also.cheri

If anyone is laughing, it must only be because of happiness and delight. We were all made to be unique and special, with our own individual lives to live... This is another thought-provoking and beautiful poem from you, dear Bindu!

Just when we think we have it all figured out --- we find something new that changes everything . . . except his love. Your gift of writing is only surpassed by your passion for love and light -- these flow through your words like a tsunami.
