My Dearest Winter

Isn’t it funny
How the people we are closest to
Aren’t Even Real?

A murderer
They say “he’s a villain!”

This is getting out of hand
He’s just a character
Why do you care so much?

They don’t understand
Because you and me
Are two of a kind

Sewn from the same cloth
Forced to run on autopilot
Beaten down for remembering

You understand
Misery loves company
Determination does to

If you can live again
So can I, right?
You gave me hope

I thought I lost it long ago
Broken and scarred
No more

Cool metal wraps around my neck
I know you’re there
Watching over me

Catching my falls
Dusting me off
You can do it

My biggest fans
Live in my imagination
I’m no longer alone
