Arms of Mist

In her own naked words

She exhumed the child

Lost years ago

To exaltation of another's joy

Born rough designed to cut

Her love the entrails of sublime

The gesture of a smokey mirror

In a steamy bathroom stall

Battles she chose to lose

Each corner a rhyme

She spat from bloody lips her name

To echo back a trace

Of truth a constant climate change

A solitary photograph

Venomous smile of a bitten child

Poised to strike

But I was there a light so soft

Barely touched her face

Thick with curls never met a brush

To kiss with words

Torn from calming storms

Settle gentle on the arms of mist
